They sent me on the training course
They didn’t make it clear
They haven’t come back to me
They didn’t do it right the first time
They never answer the phone
I have heard all of these statements this week. It’s been quite a week! They seem to be everywhere, messing up our lives as usual. They have a lot to answer for.
In my workshops on straight talk, resilience and self development we often talk about them. If they would only get it right – preferably the first time – our lives would run so much more smoothly! It’s a fallacy of course. The minute you hear someone, and it might be you, talk about them, you know that person is behaving like a victim. You can tell the person is giving away their power. It’s now in somebody else’s hands.
We often talk about empowerment as if it is something that someone does to you. In truth, the only person who can empower you, is you.
It’s Women’s Day on Monday. So this is most especially to the women who are reading this.
Get out there; take your power into your own hands. When you start to use it properly, you may well find that you have far more than you ever realised.
When you have control of your life, they lose theirs.
